    Board Chair
    Partner, KPMG, LLP
    Omid joined the Covenant House California’s Board of Directors in 2011 and took on the Chair role in the summer of 2019. He and his wife, Sudi, have two young children and live in Los Angeles County. Omid is a national partner in KPMG’s Advisory Services and currently serves as the leader for the data analytics team supporting KPMG’s Internal Audit practice. He has over twenty seven years of international experience assisting KPMG’s clients with data analytics, financial statement audits, and forensic services.

    Mike Kibler

    Mike Kibler joined the Covenant House California board in October 2013, and has served on its Governance Committee and as co-chair of the Executive Sleep Out Task Force. He was elected to serve as Vice Board Chair in 2019. Mike is the managing partner of Kibler Fowler & Cave LLP, a Los Angeles-based commercial trial and litigation boutique law firm. Prior to co-founding Kibler Fowler & Cave, Mike was a litigation partner at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, where he practiced law in its New York and Los Angeles offices for over 18 years. Mike has tried multiple complex commercial cases to verdict, including three jury trials that have landed on the National Law Journal’s Top 100 Verdicts of the Year list. Throughout his career, Mike also has represented clients pro bono in the areas of housing discrimination, consumer fraud and the dumping of psychiatric patients on Skid Row. In his pro bono work, Mike has worked closely with Public Counsel—the largest pro bono legal services organization in the United States—and Aids Project Los Angeles. Mike is a 1997 manga cum laude graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law. After graduating from law school and spending a year as a litigation associate in the New York office of Skadden Arps, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert B. Kugler and then the Honorable Garret E. Brown, Jr., in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. In addition to serving on the CHC board, Mike’s community involvement has included coaching baseball in the Beverly Hills Little League and serving as an Assistant Scoutmaster of BSA Troop 223 in the Pacific Palisades. He lives with his wife, Ann, and children, Andrew and Beatrice, in Beverly Hills.

    Attorney, Former Congressman (Michigan)
    William (Bill) Brodhead is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School. He practiced law in Michigan for 38 years until his retirement in 2006. Bill served for 12 years as Chair of the Board of Covenant House, Michigan. Upon moving to California in 2011, Bill became a member of the board of Covenant House California. Bill served from 1970-1974 as a member of the Michigan Legislature and from 1974-1982 as a United States Congressman from Michigan. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife Kathleen. They have been married for 55 years. They have two sons, both of whom live in the Bay Area.

    Melissa joined the Covenant House California’s Board of Directors in 2017 and has served on the Development Committee. She and her husband, David have two young children and live in Los Angeles. She loves to travel, read, volunteer, and spend time with her family. Melissa is a General Manager at Delta Air Lines where she is a seasoned marketing and communications leader with over 15 years of experience leading teams in Sales and Marketing at Delta Air Lines.

    Gus is the Chief Information Security Officer at the University of Southern California.  He has over twenty years of experience in application security, vulnerability detection and management, crisis management, electronic crime and threat intelligence, business continuity management, and information risk management.

    Fred Ali

    Diversity & Inclusion Committee Chair / Development Committee Co-Chair
    President & CEO, Weingart Foundation
    Fred Ali was the founding executive director of Covenant House California. In 1999, Fred left Covenant House to become the President of the Weingart Foundation. He has over 45 years of senior management experience with philanthropy, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions and government. Fred speaks regularly on issues pertaining to the nonprofit sector including equity, organizational effectiveness and capacity building. In 2021, Fred will step down as President of the Weingart Foundation, but will remain active in social justice and racial equity work.

    Shantel is an alumni of Covenant House. She first went through our 30 day emergency shelter before staying in our supportive apartment program for two years then successfully exiting the program. Shantel is now on our board sharing her experience and perspective to help make our programs even better for our youth. She is currently in school pursing her degree in nursing. During her free time she enjoys writing, cycling with her husband Joshua and running after her son Josiah at beautiful parks.

    Kelly Gordon joined the Board of CHC in 2017 after being introduced to the Cov thru her company, Topson Downs. Kelly worked for Topson Downs, a clothing manufacturer and wholesaler, for 18 years, with her latest position being Chief Operations Officer. Kelly left her career in 2020 to spend more time with her 3 kids, Emma, Jack and Drew as well as spend more time with various charities. She lives in Manhattan Beach with her husband.

    Ilene joined Covenant House California’s Board of Directors in 2015 and currently serves as Chair of the Governance Committee. She and her husband Jim live in Newport Beach, CA. Ilene and Jim are proprietors of SoMa Cellars a premium wine brand. Ilene retired in 2014 from Western Asset Management Company, a global investment management firm. While at Western Asset, she was responsible for their Enterprise Risk program. Ilene serves as Chair of the Board of CREST Education Center a non-public school for children with special needs. She also is a board member of the Marconi Foundation for Kids.

    Rick joined the Covenant House California’s Board of Director’s in 2015. He is a Director at BlackRock, Inc. and Market Leader in their U.S. Wealth Advisory Business. He and his wife Carolina have two boys, Liam and Aidan, and live in Los Angeles County, CA. Rick graduated from Princeton University, and earned his CIMA from The Wharton School.

    Dennis joined the Board of Covenant House California in XXXX. He had previously served on the Board of Covenant House New York for over 10 years. Prior to his retirement, Den had been Chairman and CEO of Specialized Technology Resources and had completed a near 25 year executive career at Corning Incorporated/Corning Clinical Labs (now Quest Diagnostics) where he was President and COO. Den also served as a Captain in the USAF. Den and his wife Lynne have been married over 50 years and have their primary residence in Reno, NV where their son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter also reside.

    Daryl is a Senior Vice President and Business Planning & Management Executive in Small Business at Bank of America. In his current role, Daryl works closely with Small Business teams’ to create and execute competitive sales plans to exceed market objectives. Since joining BofA in 1984 he has held various managerial positions crossing many lines of businesses within the company including the Consumer Bank, Premier Bank, Small Business and Global Wealth Management. Daryl has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from University of Phoenix and a Certificate in Commercial Bank Management from UCLA. Daryl is a fellow of Leadership Los Angeles, a leadership development program sponsored by the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce and civic/community leaders. As a member of the board of directors for Covenant House California, he is passionate about providing youth a safe haven from homelessness and helping them achieve their personal goals.

    Kevin MacLellan

    Chairman, Global Distribution and International, NBC Universal
    Kevin MacLellan is a senior media, digital, and production executive with over twenty-five years’ experience developing, launching, and managing entertainment businesses around the world. Most recently he served as Chairman, Global Distribution and International at NBCUniversal, where he was responsible for over $5 Billion a year in revenue and managed over 2,500 employees across 36 offices in the US and worldwide. MacLellan also had direct oversight of NBCU International Studios, which produced over 1,000 hours a year of high-quality programming, including Downton Abbey, Hanna, The Capture, and Last Kingdom. Additionally, he managed the Business Development and M&A functions for NBCUniversal and their parent company, Comcast, outside of the United States. Prior to joining NBCUniversal in 2010, Mr. MacLellan held senior roles at several premier media companies, including Comcast, Sony Pictures, and HBO. He began his career working in production for MTV Studios, Nickelodeon, and Comedy Central. Mr. MacLellan is a founder and Board member of the Soho Recovery Center, one of the largest drug and alcohol recovery centers in Europe. He also proudly serves on the Boards of several charities including Tribute to Humanity, and Covenant House California. Currently lives in LA with his husband of 25+ years and their two wonderful sons, who bring them joy every day.

    John Mavredakis

    Mr. Mavredakis has been on the Covenant House Board of Directors since September 2009. John and his wife, Christie, live in Los Angeles and enjoy living at the beach. John is a Managing Director at Houlihan Lokey and Global Head of Financial Sponsors Group. He has over 40 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, private financings, and ESOP buyouts, and he has personally closed more than 500 transactions. Mr. Mavredakis holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an MBA from the University of Denver Graduate School of Business.

    Jim Rossiter is a recognized leader in the Healthcare Information Technology industry. He has been an innovator with technology companies in the areas of interoperability, digital hospitals, medical terminology management and electronic health records. Mr. Rossiter has held senior executive management roles with technology companies such as IBM, Siemens, NextGen Healthcare, 314e, and Velos Corporation. Mr. Rossiter was founder and CEO of Whimstay, Inc and Carego International. Mr. Rossiter is on the board of nCoup and LifeData Systems. He and his family were introduced to the Covenant House in 1974 in New York City.

    Dick has been involved with Covenant House California for some 25 years. He chaired the Bay Area Leadership Council before assuming his seat on the Board. He is Of Counsel with the law firm Holland & Hart LLP, specializing in intellectual property law. He lives in Truckee, California, where he pursues his second profession as a part-time snowboard & ski instructor for Vail Resorts. He has a daughter who is a school counselor in Sacramento, a son who is an assistant professor of medicine at UCLA, and six grandchildren.
