Covenant House California Strategic Priorities
At the heart of our mission is a commitment to creating meaningful, lasting change for young people experiencing homelessness.
Guided by data and driven by compassion, our strategic priorities reflect our bold vision for youth. We are building the most excellent and sustainably funded housing continuum in California, expanding bed capacity in Hayward, Los Angeles, and Oakland, and looking for opportunities to provide new program spaces in Santa Clara and Orange County. At the same time, we’re strengthening mental health and workforce services, investing in exceptional staff, and using data-informed practices to improve outcomes. With your partnership, we can deliver on these bold goals and ensure every young person has the opportunity to thrive.
People & Culture
At Cov, our human capital is our greatest resource.
We are committed to fostering a workplace culture that attracts, supports, and retains exceptional staff. By investing in transparent communication, equity-based compensation, and a strong talent management strategy, we are building a culture of community, clarity, and accountability across the organization.
Development
To sustain and grow our impact, we are deepening donor engagement, diversifying our funding streams, and enhancing our brand visibility.
We are particularly focused on increasing private support in anticipation of reductions in government funding. With a renewed focus on board involvement, donor prospecting, and clear, compelling communications, we are building a strong foundation for long-term support.
Performance Management
We are committed to making every dollar count and every decision purposeful.
By embracing a data-informed approach, we aim to strengthen our programs and internal operations, foster a culture of continuous improvement across our organization and maximize revenue from public and private sources.
Finance
Financial stewardship is at the core of our sustainability.
We are committed to transparency, accountability, and long-term planning. By strengthening internal systems and organizational infrastructure, managing resources wisely, and building healthy reserves, we are ensuring Covenant House California remains resilient and ready to meet the evolving needs of our youth.
